Family Therapy is for any family structure. If you are facing challenges or changes as a family, family therapy can support you to navigate this and introduce tools and techniques to change unhealthy coping patterns, or to support the family to move forward together.
Sessions 1 - 3:
Relationship building
Decreasing conflict and blame
Creating hope that positive change can occur
Analysing patterns of interaction with the family/whānau
Sessions 4 - 6:
Introducing strategies that address specific challenges in the family/whānau
Strategies or skills may be introduced at a family/whānau or individual level
Sessions 7 - 9:
Planning for future challenges
Explore how the strategies taught can be applied to a range of scenarios
9 x sessions (max 1 hour a session)
Sessions start weekly and can be moved to fortnightly towards the end
Additional sessions available if required (at an additional cost)
Family therapy takes place in your home or online. It allows the therapist to see the relationship dynamics in your regular environment and address these in a way that is best suited to your families circumstances.
